Does it work only on macOS?

Yes. AVS is a native Mac app for macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon and Intel. There is no Windows or iOS version.

Is AVS an Internet Download Manager (IDM) alternative for Mac?

Yes — as an independent alternative. IDM is Windows-only. AVS brings accelerated multi-connection downloads, browser capture, playlists, torrents, and conversion to macOS. AVS is not affiliated with Tonec or IDM.

How does the browser extension work?

The Chrome / Edge / Brave extension talks to the Mac app via native messaging. Keep AVS open; downloads and detected videos are sent into your library. Details: Browser extension.

Can AVS download YouTube playlists and torrents?

Yes. YouTube videos and full playlists with quality / audio-only options, plus magnet links and .torrent files with per-file selection, pause, and resume.

Why did AVS capture the wrong video?

Some sites keep media that was opened earlier on the page. Refresh the page, open the video you want again, then capture. You can also paste the URL into AVS after refreshing.

Does AVS bypass Digital Rights Management (DRM)?

No. AVS does not crack or bypass DRM. Only download content you have the right to download, and respect each site’s terms and copyright.
