YouTube & playlists

Download YouTube videos and playlists with quality and audio-only options in AVS.

AVS can download single YouTube videos and entire playlists, with quality selection and audio-only when available. Prefer the browser extension on the watch or playlist page, or paste the URL into the Mac app.

Single video

  1. Open the YouTube watch page (or copy its URL).
  2. With AVS running, use the extension capture — or paste https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=… into AVS.
  3. Choose video quality or audio-only if the picker appears.
  4. Start the download and find the file in your library.

Playlists

  1. Open a playlist URL (list= in the address) or start from the first video in the list.
  2. Send the playlist to AVS via the extension or paste the playlist link.
  3. Confirm which items to include if AVS shows a list.
  4. Let the queue run; pause or cancel individual items as needed.

Very large playlists may take a while to resolve metadata. Keep AVS open until the queue is filled.

Quality and audio-only

  • Quality — pick a resolution the source actually offers. Higher quality means larger files.
  • Audio-only — useful for music or podcasts when you do not need video.

Exact labels can vary slightly depending on what YouTube exposes for that video.

Tips

  • Keep the Mac app running when using the extension.
  • If capture fails, paste the URL manually.
  • Private, members-only, or region-blocked videos may not be available — AVS cannot bypass those restrictions.
  • This is not a DRM bypass. Only download content you have the right to download.
