Terms of Use

1. The service

AVS Download Manager is a free download manager for macOS. It lets you download files, videos, playlists, streams and torrents from the internet, capture downloads from supported browsers through a companion extension, and convert media files. The App is provided free of charge, without ads, subscriptions or account registration.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with these terms. The App is distributed as a free DMG installer from avsdownloadmanager.com (not through the Mac App Store).

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, resell or redistribute the App except to the extent permitted by applicable law.

3. User responsibility — important

The App is a general-purpose tool, comparable to a web browser. What you download with it, and how you use downloaded content, is decided entirely by you.

ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE USE OF THE APP RESTS SOLELY AND ENTIRELY WITH THE USER. By using the App you accept full and exclusive responsibility for:

• every file, video, audio track, stream or torrent you choose to download;
• verifying that you have the legal right to download, store, convert or otherwise use each piece of content;
• complying with the terms of service of every website or platform you download from (including YouTube and other social or video platforms);
• complying with all applicable copyright, intellectual-property and other laws in your country;
• any damage, loss, claim or legal consequence arising from the content you download or the way you use it.

4. Prohibited use

You agree not to use the App or the Website to:

• download, share or distribute content that infringes copyright or other rights of third parties;
• circumvent digital rights management (DRM) or other technical protection measures — the App does not provide, and must not be used for, DRM circumvention;
• violate the terms of service of third-party websites or platforms;
• engage in any activity that is illegal under applicable law.

5. Third-party sites and services

The App can interact with third-party websites, platforms and services. We do not control, endorse or assume any responsibility for third-party content, availability, terms or policies. Support for any particular website may change or stop working at any time without notice.

6. No warranty

THE APP AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every website or file type.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AVS AND ITS DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS OR LEGAL CLAIMS BY THIRD PARTIES — ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP OR THE WEBSITE, OR THE CONTENT YOU DOWNLOAD WITH THEM. THE ENTIRE RISK ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP RESTS WITH YOU, THE USER.

8. Trademarks

YouTube, Chrome, Edge, Brave, Instagram, TikTok and all other product and brand names mentioned on the Website are trademarks of their respective owners. AVS Download Manager is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these companies, including Internet Download Manager (IDM) / Tonec Inc.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with its effective date. Continued use of the App or the Website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
